Sony to come back in the game with Xperia X, XA: 5 things you need to know

New Delhi: To revive its lost foothold over the Indian smartphone market, Sony, after long, has announced two new Xperia phones - Xperia X and Xperia XA. The smartphones were first showcased at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Here’s everything you need to know about the to-be-launched Xperia models:

Price and availability

The Xperia X and the Xperia XA are priced at Rs 48,990 and Rs 20,990, respectively. The Xperia X will be going on sale from June 7 and the Xperia XA will be available from third week of June. Both the devices are Amazon exclusive and pre-registrations will start soon.

Sony Xperia X

The smartphone features a 5-inch 1080p TRILUMINOS display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 64-bit processor which is paired with 3GB of RAM. It has a 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card. The device has a 23-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, predictive hybrid auto-focus, 24mm wide angle lens and 1080p video recording. It also comes with 13-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording. It is powered by a 2,620mAh battery.

Sony Xperia XA

The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel selfie camera with wide angle lens. The Xperia XA also features a 2,300mAh battery and runs on Android Marshmallow.

Sony Offers

Sony is also offering freebies worth over Rs 2,700 to buyers. The offer include free three months subscription for Sony LIV, three months subscription for Hungama Play, Kindle e-books worth Rs 1,000, pre-installed games like Modern Combat and free credits worth Rs 780.

Competitors

Specifications wise it can be compared with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s Eco and the Lenovo K4 Note with much less price, which is around the Rs 10,000.
