New Delhi: Samsung today launched its new smartphone offering, the Galaxy Wide at a price of 319,000 KRW (Rs 18,600 approx.) and is currently available in South Korea only.
The Samsung Galaxy Wide features a 5.5-inch HD display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with Snapdragon 410 processor and coupled with 2GB of RAM. It also offers a 16GB expandable internal memory.
There is no information on whether the smartphone comes with a microSD card slot for expandable storage. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone packs in a 3,000mAh removable battery and supports connectivity options like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
The Samsung Galaxy Wide is considered as an upgraded version of the Galaxy On7 smartphone. Earlier Sammobile, the official Samsung fans website, revealed that Galaxy Wide carries the model number of SM-G6000S, which is similar to the model number of the Galaxy On7.
Currently, the Galaxy Wide has been only been launched in South Korea, with no information on pricing and availability in other markets.
Samsung is also rumored to soon launch a Galaxy On7 (2016). According to the leaks and rumours, the Galaxy On7 (2016) will feature a 4.8-inch Full HD AMOLED display. The smartphone will be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB RAM. The smartphone will come with 16GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the smartphone will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
