New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Food and Herbal Park Private Limited has registered a turnover of over Rs 5,000 crore in the last fiscal, up from Rs 2500 crore in the previous year.
Addressing the media at the Constitutional Club, Baba Ramdev said that the Haridwar-based company has recorded a growth of 1100 per cent in the last 4 years. Patanjali’s turnover in 2011-12 was Rs 446 crore.
High on the growth of the company, Baba Ramdev said that the next target of Patanjali is to achieve Rs 10,000 crore turnover in current fiscal.
The revenue generation of Patanjali Cow Ghee in the last fiscal was Rs 1308, he announced. The turnover of Patanjali’s Dant Kanti (toothpaste) and Kesh Kanti (hair oil product) was Rs 425 crore and Rs 325 crore, respectively.
Baba Ramdev also said that Patanjali Noodles was gaining popularity in the market and expressed optimism of the product overtaking Swiss major Nestle, which brings out Maggi Noodles. Maggi was caught in the midst of a storm over the presence of excess lead content in its instant noodles.
Baba Ramdev also expressed confidence of the company taking over three multi-national companies.
Patanjali spends nearly Rs 1000 crore on research works, he said.
At present, Patanjali has over 40,000 distributors across the country and at least 100 mega stores and retail stores are selling its products.
Patanjali’s product range includes the categories of personal care and food. The company manufactures 444 products including 45 types of cosmetic products and 30 types of food products. According to Patanjali, all the products manufactured by Patanjali are made from Ayurveda and natural components. Patanjali also manufactures over 300 medicines.
