New Delhi: In some relief for consumers, prices for petrol and diesel have been slashed with effect from midnight tonight. While prices of petrol per litre have been cut by 74 paise per litre, diesel will get cheaper by Rs 1.30 per litre.
“The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision,” state-owned Indian Oil Corp said in a statement.
After the revision in prices, effective from midnight tonight, the price of one litre of petrol in Delhi will stand at Rs. 61.13, while that of diesel will be revised to Rs 48.01 per litre.
In Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, diesel will be now available at Rs 53.49, Rs 48.76 and Rs 50.48 respectively whereas petrol at Rs 65.63, Rs 60.58 and Rs 64.90 per litre.
The movement of prices in the international oil market and INR-USD exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes, it added.
