New Delhi: WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature for all the iOS users. This new update will let the users integrate GIFs to express themselves with a lot more innovations.
As of now, there is no information provided about the date the new feature will roll out to Android.
According to @WABetaInfo, a Twitter account that tracks all the latest changes that are made for WhatsApp beta version, the latest iOS beta app (version 2.16.7.1) has added support for auto-playing GIF links.

After the update is done, it will allow users to directly embed GIFs into their conversations. The change log also mentioned that that users will also have the ability to save GIF images to the camera roll, directly reply to GIF image messages, encryption support and also support for 3D Touch actions such as Peek and Pop on GIF images.
The GIFs will not be as good as Giphy support on Facebook Messenger or Google’s GBoard keyboard for iOS that allows you to search and insert GIFs right from the app. But seems that it will work normally, also auto-playing GIFs means that you will no longer need to open the web browser to see what your friend has sent you.
WhatsApp has been adding new features to iOS over the past few months. The features include text formatting and save media options, share photos and videos from third-party apps and end-to-end encryption and more. Also WhatsApp has released the native desktop version for Windows and Mac OS X.
