New Delhi: Pokemon Go, the augmented reality-based game, has taken the world by storm since its launch last week.
Despite being launched just a few days ago in Japan, Australia, US and New Zealand, Pokemon Go has became so popular that players have already crashed its servers.
It is currently only available in a few countries and most iOS will have to wait for the it, but Android owners can simply download the game’s APK and start playing.
The game is available for download without being launched but there are things you need to keep in mind. Reports by security firm Proofpoint say that Pokemon Go lets players get around geographical restrictions, but if the wrong file is downloaded, it can possible fill your smartphone with malware.
There is also news that the game can be harmful to your health. In a media report Mike Schultz, a 21-year-old communications graduate on Long Island, New York, took a spill on his skateboard as he stared at his phone while cruising for critters early Thursday.
He cut his hand on the sidewalk after hitting a big crack, and blames himself for going too slowly. The game has also induced people to post pictures of themselves on social media chasing creatures in all sorts of dangerous situations.
Another incidence from a popular YouTuber Lanceypooh said that he recorded his Pokémon GO hunting adventure as headed out to chase them in the woods. However, while following the Pokéradar, Lancey’s adventurous trip took an unexpected scary turn as he accidentally intruded someone’s privacy.
Pokemon Go augmented reality app from Niantic Labs, which co-created the game with Nintendo was set for the international roll-out today. But it has been temporarily suspended as the Niantic servers suffered glitches due to an overwhelming response.
