New Delhi: The wait is finally over and OnePlus 3 has been officially announced. The smartphone is a successor to OnePlus 2 and brings with it a new design and upgrades on the specifications and features front. Also, only one model has been launched all over the world.
Price and availability: The OnePlus 3 is available at a price of Rs 27,999 in India, and is all set to go on sale exclusively via Amazon India. Also the OnePlus 3 buyers will be entitled to a year’s subscription of Saavn Pro, double data offer for Idea users, damage protection via OnePlus Care, and Rs 500 credit on the Amazon Kindle app. Right now only the graphite colour model is available. The device will have no flash sale, so anyone can purchase the phone without needing any invite or having to wait for the flash sale.
Design and display: This time OnePlus has tried to go beyond the Sandstone finished devices and has opted for an anodized aluminum unibody design. The new flagship smartphone is also slim with dimensions of 152.7×74.7×7.35mm. It features a 5.5-inch screen, with the fingerprint scanner embedded home button below it. On the sides are the power button, volume rocker, dual-SIM card tray and the Alert Slider.
Specifications: The OnePlus 3 boasts a 2K resolution displays and flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Optic AMOLED display. The screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4. It has Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system based Oxygen OS. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad core processor, Adreno 530 GPU and huge 6 GB RAM.
Camera: In terms of photography the OnePlus 3 is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto-focus (PDAF), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and 4K video recording capabilities. It has a 8-megapixel fixed focus selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities. The selfie camera includes a new Smile Capture feature, which as the name suggests, will click a photo as soon as it detects a smile on the subject’s face.
Battery and connectivity: The OnePlus 3 has a 3,000mAh battery and the company claims to give a full day on a single charge. The battery also supports Dash Charge with up to 60 percent charge in only 30 minutes. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card (nano) slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and GPS.
