New York: Twitter, the micro-blogging website has increased its animated GIF (graphics interchange format) size provided users post their tweet from a PC and not smartphone.
The size limit for embedding GIFs has increased from 5MB to 15MB, according to a media report.
However, the 5MB photo limit stays the same, along with the GIF limit, for mobile uploads on Twitter.
But the micro-blogging website now allows for GIFs three times the size if they are uploaded on the web from a desktop computer.
The update has not made its way to TweetDeck which remains perennially behind the times when it comes to Twitter engineering improvements, The Verge reported.
Recently Twitter also announced that it will allow users to add virtual stickers to photos. The new photo editing feature will enable users to add filters, tags and crop the images according to their needs.
