Symbolic mobile brand Nokia on Tuesday officially made its comeback into the Indian market by unveiling its much-awaited Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 Android-based phones. The phones, launched by HMD Global - a Finnish startup founded to manufacture and sell the new generation of Nokia-branded smartphones, feature phones and tablets. The three phones were first launched by HMD Global at February's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The phones, according to HMD Global, will be manufactured domestically. Nokia 3 will go on sale on June 16 and will be available across top mobile retailers in India. Nokia 5 will also be available offline. However, Nokia 6 will be an Amazon exclusive available on Amazon.in with registrations beginning on July 14.
"Nokia is a trusted and well-loved brand across the world and especially in India. Today’s announcement scripts a new chapter for Nokia phones in this country as we set out to capture the hearts and minds of an entirely new generation of fans through an inspiring and purpose-led approach," said Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global at the launch.
All the three phones will be shipped with the latest pure Android 7 Nougat with guaranteed monthly security updates.
Prices for Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in India
The Nokia 3, which is the cheapest of the lot, will be available in India for Rs. 9,499 while the Nokia 5 will be priced at Rs. 12,899. The Nokia 6 will cost dent your pocket by Rs. 14,999. The Nokia 6 will also be available with a special offer for Amazon Prime members who will get Rs. 1000 back when they purchase the device using Amazon Pay balance and all Nokia 6 customers get 80% off on Kindle eBooks up to Rs.300.
Nokia 6 Specifications
The Nokia 6 will have an immersive audio experience and a 5.5" full HD screen. The company said it will deliver a truly premium smartphone experience to the users. The Nokia 6 will have an aluminum body and will have dual speakers with smart audio amplifier. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 mobile platform and the Qualcomm Adreno 505 graphics processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory. The device also supports microSD cards up to 128GB and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. In terms of the camera, the Nokia 6 has a 16-megapixel rear camera with sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. The Nokia 6 will be available in four distinct colours – Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper.

The Nokia 5 will also have an aluminum body and a laminated 5.2" IPS HD display with sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass display. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 mobile platform, Nokia 5 delivers excellent battery life, improved graphics performance – all in a package that perfectly balances everyday usability with a premium quality design. The device features an 8MP, 84-degree wide-angle front facing camera – to squeeze even more scene into your selfie – and excellent sunlight and low light screen visibility. The Nokia 5 will be available in four distinct colours – Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper.

The Nokia 3 features an aluminum frame forged out of a single piece of aluminum, offering exceptional structural integrity and protection. The device also has a fully laminated 5" IPS display with no air gap and sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass. Thanks to its polarised screen, the phone will have fewer reflections and will offer good visibility even in bright sunlight. On the camera front, the Nokia 3 comes with an integrated 8MP wide aperture cameras (front and back). The Nokia 3 is available in four distinct colours – Matte Black, Silver White, Tempered Blue and Copper White.
