WWDC 2016 (San Francisco): It can very often get intimidating when you forget where you parked your car, especially if you happen to have done so in a multi-level parking area where you don’t even remember if it was level 2 or 3.
Rather than solving this puzzle on your own by remembering the pillar numbers and the color bands, Apple has just made it easy for you with its latest iOS 10 update. Now, Apple’s Maps will help you locate your vehicle without any hassle by remembering the exact location of your parked car.
This prompt feature will work as a parking reminder and will automatically pin the stationary location at the end of the trip anywhere other than the user’s provided home address.
A parked car icon will apparently also show in Apple Maps, including with an option to get directions to the car and an estimated time to get there. There’s also an edit option to tweak the accuracy of the pin drop if needed.
During its WWDC developer conference keynote earlier this week, Apple announced some big changes coming to Maps in iOS 10. These will include features like the app being opened up to third party developers to add functionality via extensions such as searching and booking a restaurant table or requesting a cab and paying for it supported by Apple Pay.
The best part – you can do so without the need to open any other app.
Maps will also feature information regarding traffic conditions and road accidents making the iOS10 update more desirable.
