New Delhi: Motorola is all set to launch its fourth generation Moto G smartphone on May 17 in Delhi. The smartphone makers have come out with teaser ads on their Twitter accounts which suggest that the phone will beat the Moto G3 with its new features and more.

Previous Moto G devices have offered excellent performance, though the camera has been its weakest link. The company did improve camera performance on its Moto X Play, Moto X Style and Moto X Force smartphones and has worked upon the camera of the new Moto G4.

This also could be the first smartphone to feature the ‘Moto by Lenovo’ branding but this will only be confirmed on the launch.

From all the tweets and other leaks and revelations, here are the 5 need-to-know things we have compiled for you about the smartphone:

Two variants: The Moto G4 is likely to have two variants – one, a regular Moto G4 and the other, a plus-sized variant or the Moto G4 Plus. According to rumours, the Moto G4 will come with a smaller screen size and storage capacity and while the Plus variant will be a bigger phone with much more storage.

Fingerprint scanner: The new phone is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner. And will be the first Moto phone with this feature. According to a Lenovo executive, all Motorola-branded phones would have fingerprint scanners in 2016. It will also have "NFC" also, which might make this the first Moto G to have the near-field chip.

Good Battery and price: The smartphone is at least expected to have a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging in either model. And according to the rumours the phone can be priced between Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 17,000.

Better camera performance: The regular Moto G, which is expected to have a 5-inch screen, as per previous reports, will sport a 13-megapixel camera on the rear. The Moto G4 Plus is reported to have a 5.5-inch screen will on the other hand come with a 16-megapxiel rear camera. Both the phones will come with laser autofocus. Both the Moto G4 variants will sport a 5-megapixel front-facing with an OmniVision sensor.

Specification: The Moto G4 is expected to be curvier, with thin bezels, a 5.5-inch screen, FullHD display with 1080p resolution, which is definitely good than the previous version. The lateset version is also likely to have an octa-core processor most likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, with a 2GB RAM, and a fingerprint sensor.
