New Delhi: Lenovo has launched its new lower mid-range 4G smartphone Vibe K5 Plus at a price of Rs 8,499. It will go on sale from March 23 onwards. It will be exclusively available on flipkart without any prior registrations. The smartphone was unveiled at MWC 2016 event in Barcelona, Spain, last month.
Here are the five things to know about Vibe K5 Plus:
Design: Despite the low price tag, the Vibe K5 Plus features an aluminum body. The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with 441ppi density. It will be available in Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver and Graphite Grey colour variants. Also, the company has managed to keep the thickness down to 7.9mm with a weight of 142 grams.
Virtual reality experience: The Vibe K5 Plus also supports ‘TheaterMax’, which was first introduced on the Lenovo K4 Note. This can convert any multimedia content into a virtual reality experience. Be it games or videos, TheaterMax will convert them into large screen experience with smooth graphics, surround sound and 3D gameplay.” Also, the smartphone is compatible with ANTVR headset.
Features: The Vibe K5 Plus focuses on audio and boasts a pair of stereo speakers at the back with support for Dolby ATMOS. Lenovo has preloaded some apps like SHAREit, SNAPit, and Guvera Music among others.
Specifications: It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Vibe UI. The smartphone has 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The device features a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It has 2,750mAh battery and in terms of connectivity it includes dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
Rival phones: Vibe K5 Plus seems well-built on paper but there are smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Le 1S, Moto G Turbo which can give it a tough competition despite the price.
