The Indian Railways has renamed the Visakhapatnam-bound Samata Express in order to promote Vizag Steel, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Steel ministry.

Samata Express, now renamed as Vizag Steel Samta Express, has been emblazoned with eye-catching Vizag Steel promotional visuals across its entire length.

Besides, the Vizag Steel brand will prominently feature on train coaches, train name boards, train arrival/departures announcements in all stations on the train’s route, an official release said.

Vizag Steel is the brand name of the state-owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited with an annual capacity of 6.3 million tonnes of long steel products and is one of the leading domestic long steel producers, supplying wire-rods, re-bars, structural, squares and rounds catering to construction and infrastructure sectors.

Vizag Steel Samata Express was flagged off at Nizamuddin station by Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu and Union Minister of Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh in the presence of RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director P. Madhusudan.

“Steel is a key component for progress and Indian Railways being the most cost-effective medium to promote a product, Vizag Steel has chosen to promote its brand image through Samta Epxress,” said Union Minister of Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh.

With Vizag Steel Samta express passing through several regions of India, the branding is expected to get a major boost.
