Apple’s WWDC 2016 begins tonight: Here is what you can look forward to

New Delhi: Apple will kick start its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) tonight. The event is scheduled to be held from June 13 to June 17, 2016, in San Francisco. It will start at 10:30pm (IST), with a keynote in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

A lot is being expected from Apple - software platforms such as OS X, iOS, watchOS, tvOS as well as the apps.

Here’s a quick look at what to expect at the Apple WWDC 2016:

  • Apple is expected to make changes in Apple music and iTunes, so that users are able to manage better. It will now have easy features to transfer music, purchase through the iTunes Store and also the Apple Music streaming library.
  • Apple in regard to the recent software branding strategy is expected to rename OS X, the company’s laptop and desktop operating system, as macOS.
  • Siri is expected to be the main attraction of the event. Siri, Apple’s digital assistant on iOS will make its way to the Mac platform, and also become much more powerful. 
  • Apple is also working on an App Store revamp, to improve discovery and navigation. 
  • Apple most likely will give a software updates for both the tvOS (Apple TV) and the watchOS (Apple Watch). 
  • Apple is always expected to release it’s a new iOS version every year at the WWDC, but this year update could well end up being minor. 
  • Also, Apple Music will get a new look, and possibly new photo editing options for iOS’ Photos app.

Apple will also live stream the WWDC sessions on its official website developer.apple.com/wwdc, and on the WWDC app.
