New Delhi: Google has rolled out a new update to its Google Maps for all the users in India. The latest update is about the new traffic alerts, which aim to help users plan their journey better. The updates are available for Google Maps for Android and iOS platforms. To find the new features, users will have to be in navigation mode.
Google has added voice alerts for upcoming traffic conditions, which also offers alternate routes, along with information on why the particular route has been recommended. The app will also inform you whether the route is the fastest or has lesser traffic as well.
At present, Google gives the option of alternate routes along with how much longer it will take in comparison to the primary route. The new update though makes it more elaborate and helps make more informed decisions while travelling.
Google, in a blog post said, “Luckily, Google Maps can help you find the most ideal route to your destination with the least delays. Just in time for you to hit the road, we’ve updated Google Maps with new traffic alerts to help you avoid jams.”
Recently, Google maps apps integrated cab services in major cities in India. The integration allows users to select from taxi services such as Uber or Ola. Users can see estimated fare, pick up times and availability of taxis nearby the users location. The app also includes uberGO, uberX, Ola Mini, Ola Micro and Ola Sedan options.
