New Delhi: Apple and Tidal are reportedly planning on collaboration. Tidal is a music streaming service, which is owned by famous rapper Jay Z and the tech giant is apparently is talks with Tidal to bring the music-streaming app’s services to Apple Music.
This was reported by WSJ, which also said that negotiations are ongoing and may not result in a deal, and the terms are as of yet unknown.
Reports also suggest that Apple executives are eager to use Tidal's strong ties with top artists in an attempt to grow their own Apple Music service.
Jay Z bought Tidal in March last year from Sweden-based Aspiro for around $56 million (Rs.300 cr approx). Presently, the app only offers paid-subscription services for $20 (Rs.1300 approx.) a month for hi-fi quality and $10 (Rs.673 approx.) for standard quality.

At WWDC 2016, Apple announced the redesigning of its Music service and hence all the increasing investment is going on within the music platform.
The foundation of Apple Music took place in a similar manner, when the company bought Beats Electronics last year. Beats was owned by well-known rapper Dr Dre.
