The Uttar Pradesh police have booked against at least 10 employees of real estate builder Amrapali Group including its Chairman and Managing Director Anil Kumar Sharma.

An FIR was registered at the Bisrakh police station following a complaint that they had threatened to kill an investor for seeking a refund of his investment in the group’s Leisure Valley project in Greater Noida West.

Besides Sharma, people against whom the FIR was registered include: Pallavi Mishra, Shiv Priya, Ajay Kumar, Suvansh Chand, Amresh Kumar, Chandra Wadhwa, Nishant Mukul, Sanjay Kumar and Rajkumar.

Complainant Veer Bahadur Singh, who lives is Delhi, had in 2012 invested in Amrapali’s Leisure Valley project in Greater Noida West. But the builder failed to handover the possession of the property timely. When Singh asked the company to return his amount which he had invested five years ago, he was allegedly manhandled by the staff and threatened with consequences.

Amrapali Group, once considered among the best real estate builders, has several projects in Noida, Greater Noida and nearby areas that are incomplete or left abandoned, forcing homebuyers to approach the authority or court.

Yesterday, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority had organised a tripartite meeting of Amrapali Group CMD Anil Kumar Sharma and homebuyers at its Knowledge Park 4 office with an aim to address buyers’ grievances. The authority directed the group to submit a detailed roadmap as to how the realty firm will deliver the flats by June 7 failing which it will face action.
