Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Ranjan Prasad Yadav, who gained fame after defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav from Patliputra parliamentary seat in 2009, is likely to join RJD today, said the sources. He is set to join Lalu's party at 7 pm at Rabri Devi's residence located at 10 Circular Road, Patna.

Yadav's political career has been full of U-turns and switchovers. If he joins RJD today, he will complete a circle. He has been in Lalu's party, Nitish Kumar's JD-U, late Ram Vilas Paswan's LJP and also he formed his own party. Yadav has been part of almost all major parties in the state.

Earlier, the former MP from Pataliputra constituency returned to JD(U) in 2022. Now, after two years, he is set to jump ship again. Yadav had played an inning with JD(U) in 2009 and contested Patliputra Lok Sabha seat on party symbol defeating then Bihar stalwart Lalu Prasad Yadav. Before joining JD(U), he was with LJP.

He deserted JD(U) in 2014 after Nitish Kumar formed a ‘Mahagathbandhan' with RJD and Congress.  After quitting the JD(U), he formed a political party – ‘Janta Dal Rashtravadi’.
