Bihar Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024 LIVE: The NDA won 30 seats out of 40 in Bihar. BJP and JDU emerged as the largest parties clinching 12 seats each. Additionally, LJP-RV won 5 seats. HAM of Jeetan Ram Manjhi also won the only seat it contested. On the other hand, RJD faced a humiliating defeat. It won only 4 seats. Congress and CPI(ML)(L) won 3 and 2 seats respectively. The counting of votes for all the 40 Lok Sabha seats has concluded in Bihar. The eastern state of Bihar voted in all seven phases of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Janata Dal-United, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress are the main parties in the state. Key issues such as unemployment, rural development, and infrastructure were at the forefront, with leaders from all parties promising transformative change. As Bihar witnessed one of the most significant elections in its recent history, the outcomes here are poised to have a far-reaching impact on the national political landscape. It should be noted here that the exit polls have predicted a comfortable victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar in the Lok Sabha polls. The Election Commission has also issued two helpline numbers -- 0612-2217601 and 0612-2217602 -- at the state headquarters in Patna. They is functional from from 7 am on June 4 and anyone can register complaints.

    RJD candidate from Patliputra and Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti defeated BJP's Ram Kripal Yadav by 85,174 votes. She polled 6,13,283 votes while Yadav polled 5,28,109 votes.

    Bihar Election results 2024: Jitan Ram Manjhi wins Gaya seat by over 1 lakh vote

    NDA candidate and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi registered victory at Gaya seat by a margin of 1,01,812 votes. He defeated his rival candidate Kumar Sarvjeet of RJD. As per the Election Commission, Manjhi garnered 4,94,960 votes, while Sarvjeet got 393148 votes.

    Bihar Election Results 2024 LIVE: NDA ahead in state, Nitish Kumar-led JDU on top

    The BJP-led NDA was leading in a majority of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, according to trends available by the Election Commission around noon. The JD(U) headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who returned to the NDA barely five months ago, was ahead of rivals in 14 out of 16 seats it had contested. The BJP, which had contested 17 seats, was leading in 11, while junior ally Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) was ahead in all the five in its kitty, including Hajipur, where its president Chirag Paswan had established a lead of about 24,000 votes.

    Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary dismisses INDIA bloc's claim of getting '295-plus seats'

    Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Choudhary dismissed the INDIA bloc's claim of getting "295-plus seats," stating that if the Opposition is so confident of victory, they should directly go the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Speaking to the media, Choudhary said, "The people of the country have voted having kept in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modiji's work. We are confident that we will win over 400 seats nationwide and in Bihar, we are sure of securing all 40 seats. However, if the INDIA bloc has gotten 295 seats, they should got to Rashtrapati Bhavan.     Bihar: JDU leader Arvind Singh makes laddus with party workers ahead of LS poll results

    With the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 just about to start, JDU leader Arvind Singh alias Chhotu Singh made Laddu with party workers, saying that party workers are preparing for the enthusiasm of Lok Sabha election results. Speaking to the media, Arvind Singh said, "We are preparing for the enthusiasm of tomorrow. We have given an order of 401 kg of laddus. 20 workers are preparing our order."

    INDIA bloc going to win big in Bihar, exit polls a psychological trick: RJD

    The RJD has claimed that the I.N.D.I.A bloc would notch up a tally of "25-plus" in the state with 40 Lok Sabha seats, dubbing exit polls as a "psychological trick".  "The exit polls have played a psychological trick. Huge money is involved in the exercise. We are told that besides the stock markets, the Prime Minister’s Office also has a stake," RJD national spokesperson Manoj Kumar Jha claimed. "The exit poll agencies may claim to have carried out their own surveys. But we gained a first-hand sense of the popular sentiments during the elections. Our leader Tejashwi Yadav, and the coalition represented by him, promised jobs, fresh recruitment in railways and restoration of earlier system of employment in armed forces," he added.

    Exit Poll: India TV-CNX projection for Bihar Lok Sabha Elections

    According to India TV-CNX Exit Poll prediction, the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to get 17 seats, while its ally JD(U) is likely to get 11-13 seats. BJP's other allies, LJP(RV) AND HAM may get 3-4 seats and one seat respectively. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal is also likely to get 3-5 seats and its ally Congress may have to settle with one seat. 

    Here's the Exit Poll prediction for all 40 seats in Bihar:

    NDA:

    • BJP: 17-17
    • JDU: 11-13
    • LJP(RV): 3-4
    • HAM: 1-1

    Bihar: A recap of 2019, 2014 Lok Sabha Elections

    The 2019 Lok Sabha elections were held in Bihar in seven phases between April 11 and 23. In the elections, BJP won 17 seats, JD(U) won 16 seats, LJP won six seats and the Congress party had to settle with only one seat. In 2014, the BJP, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and RLSP had contested 30, seven and three seats of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. The BJP-led NDA won 31 seats (BJP won 22 seats, the LJP six and RLSP three seats).

    Bihar Election Results 2024: Traffic operation halted on Boring Road from 5 am today in view of counting

    The Patna district administration has decided to close the traffic operation on Boring Road from 5 a.m. on June 4. The commuters will not be allowed to enter that stretch from Boring Road Chowk on one end and the water tank area on the other side except for emergency services like ambulances. Commercial vehicles will be also prevented from going on the Boring Canal Road from Rajapur Bridge to Hartali Chowk.

    The voting in the state was held in all seven phases from 19 April to 1 June to elect members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
