The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 have been launched in India at Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 2.65 lakh, respectively. Prices are ex-showroom.
At EICMA 2017, both bikes were first revealed globally. New 650cc parallel twin engine developed by Royal Enfield is the highlight of the two motorcycles.
For the first time, Royal Enfield uses a six-speed gearbox, specially developed for the 650 Twin, thoroughly tested on proving grounds, race tracks and public roads, with carefully selected gear ratios chosen to deliver the best blend for all riding conditions. The result is evident in the optimum shift feel, reliability of engagement, quiet notch-free selection and perfect ratio spacing. The gearbox is augmented by a slipper clutch which has an assist feature for light lever feel.
From the yesteryear Royal Enfield Interceptor, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Twin draws inspiration.
On the other hand, the Continental GT 650 Twin is an ode to the café racer culture. The company says that there are no shared parts between the new Continental GT 650 and the current Continental GT.
