According to the data compiled by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), MSI's premium hatchback Swift stood at the first position with sale of 22,228 units in September as against 13,193 units, a year ago.
The Passat is now available with Volkswagen Connect, an intelligent connected vehicle assistance system offering a holistic and connected experience to its customers, Volkswagen said in a statement.
Of the three variants, Cayenne is priced at Rs 1.19 crore, while Cayenne E-hybrid will come for Rs 1.58 crore. The Cayenne Turbo carries a price tag of Rs 1.92 crore.
MG Motor India, a wholly-owned arm of China's SAIC Motor Corp, will roll out a locally manufactured pure-electric SUV by first half of 2020, within one year of its first product launch in the country, a top company official said on Monday.

The complainant had alleged that the clutch of his Maruti Swift was malfunctioning from the beginning. The defect continued after every service and even after its replacement.
The new Ford Aspire 2018, at this price, is Rs 20,000 less than the outgoing model, which was priced between Rs 5.72 lakh and Rs 8.69 lakh.
The BMW X1 sDrive20i is locally produced at the company's plant in Chennai.
"The growth in the last two quarters has seen an upturn and this momentum is expected to continue," Tata Motors Manufacturing Head (CVBU), A B Lall told PTI.

The anniversary edition will be limited to 1,000 units based on single trim SX(O) in petrol and diesel engine variants
The company has already committed to launch six models in the country over the next three years.
