Auto-maker Mahindra & Mahindra hopes to see 15 per cent growth in the sales of the Bolero pick-up this fiscal year, a senior official of the company Mahesh Kulkarni said on Friday.
Addressing a press conference after launching the upgraded Maha Bolero pick-up here, Kulkarni said, "We sold 1.49 lakh units of the pick-up last fiscal. From April to September this year, we sold 12,600 units."
He said 50 per cent of the pick-up business come from agriculture business sector while the rest was from the service industry.
Replying to a query, he said though rising diesel price was a cause of concern in terms of earning potential of the pick-up operators, some of the offers given by it may offset the negatives.
He said Bolero was being exported to some of the neighbouring countries.
The new pick-up comes with different body style, cargo box lengths and varying payload capacities of 1,300 kg, 1,500 kg and 1,700 kg, suitable for various customer segments and their needs, he added.
