Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has opted to curtail his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh by excluding the western region of the state, thereby saving five days of travel, in consideration of ongoing board exams.

The statement from Congress comes as the farmers have put forth 12 demands before the central government for which have staged a protest in Delhi. The protest this time has been called by Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee led by farmer union leaders.

Sonia Gandhi is likely to contest Rajya Sabha elections from Rajasthan, sources said. Rajya Sabha elections are set to be held on February 27.

The National Alliance Committee will present its report to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge first, and upon receiving approval, the party will engage in discussions with its alliance partners, sources said. Congress leaders are now tasked with negotiating seats with their alliance partners.
