Faced with rebellion by senior state minister Eknath Shinde, who has claimed the support of the majority of Sena MLAs, the executive also passed a resolution that no other political outfit can use the name Shiv Sena and its founder, late Bal Thackeray.
While speaking to news agency ANI, the leader added that it is his job to provide security and comfort stay to anyone who comes from outside. "Tomorrow, even if Congress comes, I will extend the same welcome," he added.
On Thursday, a population of 45.34 lakh in 30 districts had been affected by the deluge, according to the bulletin of the Assam State Management Disaster Authority (ASDMA).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Centre is continuously monitoring the flood situation in Assam and is working closely with the state government to provide all assistance to overcome the challenge.
In a tweet, Eknath Shinde said: "You can't scare us by applying for action against 12 MLAs. Because we are the real Shiv Sena and Shiv Sainik of the venerable Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray."
