Shani Jayanti 2022 and Vat Savitri Vrat: Shani aka Saturn has a special place in the nine planets according to astrology. This slowest moving planet in the solar system has the ability to affect the whole life of a person. The planet Saturn, the factor of punishment and justice, stays in one zodiac sign for two and a half years, which is why it takes seven and a half years to move to the moon and the zodiac signs that are in front and behind it. This is also called Shani Sade Sati.

According to the scriptures, Shanidev, son of Mother Chhaya and Suryadev, was born on the new moon day of Jyeshtha month. In the year 2022, the combination of Amavasya tithi with Jyeshtha month is on May 30. Therefore, this year Shani Jayanti will be celebrated on the 30th of May. The importance of Shani Jayanti this year is also greater as many more auspicious yogas are being made on this day. As May 30 is a Monday, it will be Somvati Amavasya. Along with this, there will be many rare auspicious combinations like Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga and Sukarma Yoga. Vat Savitri Vrat is also on the same day, on which women pray for the long life of their husbands.
Amavasya Tithi of Jayeshtha month will start on Sunday 29th May 2022 at 2:54 pm and will end on 30th May at 4:59 pm in the evening. Hence, Shani Jayanti will be celebrated on 30th May depending on Udaya Tithi.
This Shani Jayanti will be very important for those people who are going through the bad effects of Shani's Sadesati, Shani's Dhaiyya and Shani. Also, it has a great meaning for those whose birth chart is afflicted by Shani and Mahadasha and Antardasha of Shani. Saturn is going through a bad transit. And by worshipping Lord Shani on this day, one can get relief from the sufferings caused by the evil effects of the planet.
