Sawan 2022 First Somvar: The holy month of Sawan has begun on July 14 and the devotees all over the country are celebrating by worshipping Lord Shiva. Sawan has a lot of importance in the Hindu culture. It is said that those who keep fast during this month, get blessings from the Lord. Today, devotees are observing fast (vrat) on the first Somvar i.e. Monday of the Sawan month. Before this holy month concludes on August 12 on Shravan Purnima, devotees will witness four Mondays.

- First fast of Sawan Monday - 18 July 2022
- Second fast of Sawan Monday - 25 July 2022
- Third fast of Monday Sawan Monday - 01 August 2022
- Fourth fast of Monday Sawan Monday - 08 August 2022
- Last day of Sawan month - 12 August 2022
First Sawan Somvar: Nag Panchami
According to Sankranti, the month of Sawan will start on July 16. However, according to both Sankranti and Poornima, the first Monday of Sawan is falling on July 18. Also, It is the fifth tithi of the month of Sawan on which the festival of Nag Panchami will be celebrated in many places including Bihar, Bengal, and Orissa. So, along with worshipping Lord Shiva on the first Monday of Sawan, it will be fruitful to worship the serpent on this day.
Second Sawan Somvar: Pradaosh Vrat
The second Monday of Sawan is falling on July 25. Pradosh fast is also observed on this day. According to the beliefs, the fast of Pradosh is dedicated to Lord Shiva. So, the second Monday of Sawan month is going to be very special for Lord Shiva devotees. With this auspicious coincidence, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Amrit Siddhi and Dhruva Yoga are also coincided on this day.
Third Sawan Somvar: Varad Chaturthi
The third Monday of the month of Sawan will be on August 2. It is Chaturthi Tithi and Varad Chaturthi. It is said that by worshipping Lord Ganesha along with Lord Shiva on this day, all your wishes get fulfilled quickly. Along with this, the coincidence of Ravi Yoga will also be witnessed on this day.
Fourth Sawan Somvar: Pavitra Ekadashi
According to the Panchang, the fourth Monday of Sawan will be on August 8. This will be the last Monday fast of this year as the month of Sawan is ending with Sawan Purnima on August 11. Ekadashi date is also being observed on this day. It is known as Pavitra Ekadashi. So, along with Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu will also be worshipped on this day. Fasting on this day will prove to be very fruitful.
On August 12, the holy month of Sawan will come to an end with the full moon.
