In the Hindi epic Mahabharata, some rules and practices are discussed that are used to please Goddess Lakshmi. One such is not eating food during the night time. There are a few habits that one must avoid after sunset which may displease the Goddess and cause you financial problems.
Use of curd
The colour representing Goddess Lakshmi is white. She can get upset if you consume anything white in colour, especially curd. There is an exception of milk. In astrology, it is believed that curd can be dangerous for health at the night.
Do not consume radish, rice and sattu
Consumption of radish, rice, and sattu is prohibited at the night, according to Mahabharata. These food items can annoy Goddess Lakshmi as they are offered to Lord Vishnu and Maa to awake them.
Do Not cute nails and hair
Cutting nails and hair at night can also annoy Goddess Lakshmi, so it is forbidden to do this work after sunset.
Donation of turmeric, salt, and sour things
One should not donate milk, turmeric, salt, and sour things. This can anger Goddess Lakshmi and you will have to face the consequences.
Don't use the broom at night
