Dwijapriya Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is observed on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of every month. After keeping a fast for the whole day,  the fast is broken by offering Argha to the moon when it rises in the evening and on the Chaturthi tithi, which will happen on Saturday (February 19). Therefore, the fast of Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi will be observed on Saturday. The Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Phalguna month is known as Dwijapriya Sankashti Chaturthi.

Auspicious time of Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi 2022

Chaturthi starting time- 19th February at 9.57 pm 

Chaturthi ending time- 20th February at 9:05 pm

Moonrise- February 19 at 8.24 pm

Worship/ Fasting method of Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi 2022

Get up in the Brahma Muhurta and take a bath after all the work is done. After this, while meditating on Ganapati, spread a clean yellow cloth on a post and keep the idol of Lord Ganesha. Now sprinkle Gangajal and sanitize the whole place. After this, offer water to Ganapati with the help of flowers. After this, apply roli, akshat and silver work. Now offer red coloured flowers, janeu, cob, betel nut, clove, cardamom in the paan. 

After this, offer modak in coconut and bhog. Offer dakshina to Ganesh ji and offer him 21 laddoos. After offering all the ingredients, worship Lord Ganesha with incense, lamp and incense sticks. After that chant this mantra. 

Vakratunda Mahakaya Surya Koti Samaprabha |

Nirvighnam Kuru Me Dev Sarv-Kaaryeshu Sarvadaa ||

In the evening, before the moon comes out, worship Ganapati and recite Sankashti Vrat Katha. After the worship is over, distribute the prasad. The fast is broken after seeing the moon at night and thus the fast of Sankashti Chaturthi is completed.
