NEW YORK (AP) — The internet is riddled with long-forgotten accounts on social media, dating apps and various shopping sites used once or twice.

There's Google Plus, the social network that recently shut down following a breach involving a half-million users. Then there's your old Tinder account, long after you found a mate or gave up.

It might not seem like a big deal to have these accounts linger. But with hacking in the news constantly, including a breach affecting 50 million Facebook accounts, you might not want all that data sitting around.

Trouble is, cleaning up your digital past isn't easy. You have to remember all the stuff you signed up for, recall old passwords and logins. And even after all that, some sites don't even let you leave.
