DHAKA, Bangladesh (AP) — Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss and elected to bat first against Zimbabwe in the second and final test on Sunday.
Aiming to level the series, following a shock 151-run defeat to Zimbabwe in the first test, Bangladesh handed Mohammad Mithun, a consistent run scorer in limited-overs cricket, and fast bowler Khaled Ahmed their test debuts.
Pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman, who played his last test against Sri Lanka in February, was also selected, while batsman Nazmul Hossain, pacer Abu Jayed and left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam were dropped from the team.
Zimbabwe, which is looking for its first test series victory since 2011, made just one change with pace bowler Donald Tiripano replacing left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza.
