BAKU, Azerbaijan (AP) — A section of an apartment building has collapsed following a gas explosion in Azerbaijan, killing at least three people and injuring another.
Emergency Situations Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov told reporters on Tuesday that the blast rocked the block in the country's second-largest city of Ganja, gutting out four apartments. Heydarov said the explosion killed a 50-year-old woman and her 24-year-old son. The third fatality was not immediately identified.
One man was rescued from the debris and taken to the hospital with injuries. Heydalov said emergency responders are still scouring the debris for possible survivors.
Emergency officials said they suspect the blast occurred after a gas leak.
