West Bengal Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC dominated the elections results by maintaining its lead in 29 seats, while the BJP lags behind at 11.
West Bengal Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: The highly anticipated moment is finally here! The counting of votes in all 42 Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal were nearly declared and Trinamool Congress (TMC) dominate the high profile contest as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) . The high-stakes contest took place across all seven phases of the 18th Lok Sabha Elections where BJP and TMC- emerges on the top.
Out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, 30 seats are contested as unreserved, while 10 seats are reserved for SC candidates and two seats are reserved for ST candidates. The BJP sprung a major surprise in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by winning 18 seats, a major improvement from the two seats it won in the 2014 elections. The TMC also won 18 seats in the previous elections, and the Congress won two seats. Trinamool Congress candidate Mahua Moitra won the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha by 56,705 votes. She defeated BJP’s Amrita Roy. Moitra was expelled from Parliament in December 2023 following the cash-for-query allegations against her.
