West Bengal Lok Sabha Elections 2024
West Bengal is one of such states which witnessed a severe political battle in the run-up to Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The BJP has put in all its might in improving its tally this year. The party had won 18 Lok Sabha seats in 2019 from only 2 in 2014, thus marking its first impressive performance in the state. The TMC, however, is keen on sweeping all 42 seats in the state.
In this election, the TMC contested all 42 seats on its own, parting its ways from the Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A bloc. Congress and the Left are part of the bloc and fought in alliance with each other. Mamata Banerjee had refused to be a part of the alliance in the state as the seat-sharing talks with the Congress remained unfruitful.
