Kunal Ghosh’s dismissal comes as a result of his divergence from the party’s official positions on certain matters.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has removed Kunal Ghosh from his position as General Secretary of the state organisation. The decision was made due to Ghosh’s expression of views that are not in line with the party’s stance.

According to a statement released by the party, Ghosh’s recent expressions of opinion have not been in line with the official stance of the TMC. The party clarified that Ghosh’s views are personal and should not be associated with the party’s position.

Prior to this, Ghosh had been relieved of his duties as the party’s spokesperson. His removal from the position of General Secretary of the state organisation marked a further step by the TMC to maintain alignment with its official positions.

The TMC urged media outlets to refrain from conflating Ghosh’s personal views with those of the party. The statement warned that any such conflation might lead to legal consequences. The statement was signed by TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’ Brien.
