TMC's Rajib Banerjee resigns, may join BJP
In a big jolt to West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, TMC's Rajib Banerjee resigned from his office as Forest Minister on Friday, ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly election. Rajib Banerjee, who was in charge of the forest department in the Bengal government, will join the Bharatiya Janata Party during Amit Shah's upcoming visit to the poll-bound state, sources told India TV. Shah is expected to visit West Bengal from January 30 to 31.
