Extreme heat is currently affecting several regions in North India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for a heatwave, warning residents of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and most parts of Western Rajasthan. Temperatures in these areas have soared above 44 degrees Celsius.
