Ganga Dussehra: Devotees take holy dip in river Ganga

Devotees celebrated 'Ganga Dussehra' in UP's Varanasi and Uttarakhand's Haridwar on June 20. They took holy dip in river Ganga on the occasion. As per the Hindu Puranas, Maa Ganga descended on the Earth on 'Ganga Dussehra'. "Usually a large crowd gathers here to perform the rituals. But this year because of COVID there is no such gathering," a devotee said. "The Ganga Dussehra is organised keeping in view the COVID protocols," said Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar.
