Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman died after her relatives allegedly beat her for seven hours after they suspected her of stealing their jewellery. According to the police, eight people have been arrested in the matter of murdering the woman and concealing her body on the rooftop of their home. The body of the woman named Samina was found on Wednesday.
FIR has been registered
As per the information provided by the police, an FIR has been registered in connection with the case. Victim Samina had gone to her relatives' place to attend a family function on Tuesday night, there, the distant relatives suspected her of having stolen their jewellery.
According to the lodged FIR, the relatives beat her up continuously from 8 am to 3 pm on Wednesday, which led to her death. They also thrashed Samina's sister Saniya and their driver Rajbir.
Her body was concealed on rooftop
Saniya later informed police that her sister's body had been concealed on the rooftop by the accused. After which, a team led by Ravi Prakash Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Wave City found it.
"The body was sent for a post-mortem examination, the report of which is still awaited. We have lodged an FIR of murder and detained eight accused. The matter is being investigated," he said.
