Uttar Pradesh: Nine killed, six injured as tanker runs over overloaded tempo in Pratapgarh
Uttar Pradesh: At least nine people were killed and six others were reported injured as a tanker ran over an overloaded tempo in Pratapgarh.
Uttar Pradesh: In an unfortunate road accident, a total of nine people lost their lives after a gas tanker overturned and hit the van they were travelling in. According to police, seven other people were reported injured in the accident that occurred in the Lilapur area on Monday afternoon. Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Rohit Mishra informed that accident took place on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway, about 15 km away from the district headquarters
As per the official, the gas tanker lost control and overturned, colliding with the van. The locals rescued the people who got trapped in the van. The injured were rushed to the Pratapgarh Medical College hospital where four women and five men were declared brought dead.
Other injured were referred to Prayagraj SRN Hospital, owing to their critical condition. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased persons. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
