Umesh Pal murder case: The post-mortem report of Umesh Pal, the prime witness in the 2005 Raju Pal murder case, revealed that the assailants had shot at least seven bullets, wherein six passed through the body while one stuck between organs. In an X-Ray report, the doctors found that a bullet was stuck in the body of Umesh, resulting in the death of the prime witness.
Notably, on Saturday evening, Umesh was attacked with crude bombs and shot outside his house. During the incident, police confirmed one of Pal's bodyguards, who too was hit in the firing, died later at a hospital. Both gunners were deployed in Pal's security by the government.
Meanwhile, according to the sources of India TV, the assailants used pistols to shoot Pal and added 9mm bullets were used in the crime. Moreover, the post-mortem report claimed Pal received serious injuries to the vital organs.
Police seize bike used in the murder
Earlier today, the police said that the assistants were keeping an eye on Pal with three vehicles-- two motorcycles and a white-coloured SUV. After firing, police said, they left one of the motorcycles. Also, police revealed that they came with four pistols and a bag filled with crude bombs. However, the attackers were still at large.
A case was registered at the Dhoomanganj Police Station on the complaint of the family members of the victim. "We have formed eight police teams to investigate every aspect of the incident and arrest those behind the attack," Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma told reporters.
It is worth mentioning Umesh was the prime witness of the 2005 murder of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Raju Pal. The main accused in the Raju Pal murder is mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, who is currently lodged in a Gujarat Jail.
