Farmers Protest LIVE Updates: Greater Noida-Noida Expressway opens after protesters move to Ambedkar Park

Bharatiya Kisan Parishad leader Sukhbir Khalifa said, "We have come with a tough spirit and a lot of passion and dedication, for the rights of our 'annadata'. Farmers are being exploited, but it will not happen anymore. We will ensure they are given 10% plots... We have been assured that our problems will be resolved after holding Secretary-level talks. Till then, we will camp at Dalit Prerna Sthal. We will not move forward, but we will also not go back..."

The authorities opened the Greater Noida-Noida Expressway after the protesting farmers moved to Noida's Ambedkar Park. The vehicular movement starts on the Greater Noida-Noida Expressway.

Farmer leaders said they have spoken to the officials and they will hold a meeting with the chief Secretary this week. At the moment, they are not allowed to go to Delhi. The protesters said the symbolic protest will be inside Ambedkar Park. The road is being opened.

“Kalindi Kunj border, DND flyover border comes in our South East jurisdiction. Under Section 163 of BNS, no one is allowed to stage such protests without permission. There is extra deployment of police near both borders. Proper barricading has been done and CRPF officers will be there. Drone surveillance is also being done,” said JCP Sanjay Kumar Jain on security arrangements in view of farmers’ ‘Delhi March’.

The Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), both non-political farmer organisations, have reaffirmed their commitment to the 'Dilli Chalo' movement by announcing a 235-km foot march towards Delhi starting December 6. The march will commence from the Shambhu border in Rajpura, Punjab's Patiala district. According to KMM and SKM leaders, groups led by senior leaders will walk daily from 9 am to 5 pm. The demonstration is a continuation of the farmers' protest, aiming to draw attention to agrarian issues, particularly the demand for policy changes and a fair deal for the farming community.

As denied entry in Delhi, the farmers have gathered near Dalit Prerna Sthal. Some of the protestors climbed over police barricades during the protest. 

Union Minister Chirag Paswan has expressed the government's readiness to listen to the farmers' concerns and engage in dialogue regarding their ongoing protests. Commenting on the 'Delhi Chalo' march, Paswan emphasised that the government remains open to talks, noting that during the previous protests, the government withdrew the contentious laws without conditions, demonstrating its commitment to addressing farmers' issues. He further stated that the government's intention is clear: the NDA at the Centre is working in the best interest of farmers and is dedicated to resolving their grievances through discussions. "The path of dialogue remains open, and I believe that the first step should be conversations," he added.

Farmers from various organisations have gathered near Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida to protest after being denied entry into Delhi. The protest is part of their demand for addressing issues related to land acquisition, compensation, and other agrarian concerns. 

Amid the ongoing farmers' march, barricading has been set up at several points along the Chilla Border, which connects Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Authorities are conducting thorough checks of vehicles, leading to massive traffic jams on the DND Flyover and the Expressway, with lines of vehicles stretching for several kilometers.

The farmers' protest in Noida escalated further as demonstrators broke through layers of police barricading and containers placed near Ambedkar Park. They have now occupied the road, sitting in large numbers, adding to the disruption on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The blockade has caused significant traffic snarls, affecting commuters travelling in and around the area.

Amid their ongoing protest, farmers at the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida intensified their agitation by breaking through police barricades. The demonstrators, who have completely blocked the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, escalated tensions, prompting heightened security measures in the area.
