Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a crude bomb was hurled in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district on Tuesday. However, the police confirmed that the bomb was not thrown outside Atiq's lawyer's residence as it was reported earlier. The bomb was hurled in Katra in the limits of Krrnalganj police station, the police said.
In the initial investigation, it has been found that the incident took place owing to a mutual dispute between two groups in the region, the police added.
According to reports, no one was injured in the incident. Meanwhile, the local police have been pressed to nab the culprit.
Forensic experts had gathered evidence from the spot, the police said, adding further action was being taken.
"The incident was a fallout of personal enmity between two youths. The crude bomb was hurled due to the personal enmity of two youths in Katra locality. It is a coincidence that the incident occurred near the house of one of the advocates of Atiq Ahmad, who resides in the locality," the Kernalganj SHO claimed.
