With the monsoon in full swing in the country, several regions have been facing extreme weather conditions. Heavy rains have led to waterlogging-like situation prevailing in areas of UP and Uttarakhand. One such region is Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh where a bus was stranded in a river.
A roadways bus, carrying 36 passengers, was stuck in Bijnor's Kota Wali River falling under the Mandawali district. The passengers stuck in the bus had been pleading for nearly 3 hours and some had begun crying as well. The water of the Kotwali river of Bhaguwala in the district has also increased considerably after the rains.
A video of the incident has gone viral, where screams of the passengers trapped in the bus can be heard. The rescue operation was started to save the lives of the passengers. Efforts are being made to keep the bus stable with JCB so that the bus does not get swept away in the strong current of the river.
According to the information received, there are three dozen passengers on the bus. Every effort was made to prevent the bus from overturning. When the bus remained standstill, then the work of evacuating the passengers started.
Meanwhile, the administration has claimed that all the passengers were safely evacuated from the bus stuck in the Kotwali river in Bijnor. On behalf of the administrative officials, it was said that passengers have been evacuated from the bus stuck in the river.
