At least 4 people are killed while 25 others are feared injured after a boat overturned in the river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district carrying 30 people.
The incident took place at Maldepur Ganga Ghat. As per reports, people present at the site pulled out those drowning.
Those who were rescued were admitted to a nearby hospital. As many as 20-25 people are feared missing, according to authorities.
Meanwhile, a team of doctors has reached the emergency ward and is engaged in treating people.
The reason for the incident has been pinned down to the boat carrying more people than its given capacity.
Rescue operations are underway.
