Ayodhya: Ram Path develops potholes after first rain post-construction, Yogi govt swings into action | DETAILS

The Ram Path was constructed last year and developed potholes after the first rain recently. The Yogi government has swung into action after the incident.

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has tightened its noose on the PwD department over the negligence in the construction of Ram Path, which leads to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Three engineers were suspended in connection with the matter. The strict action comes after potholes started appearing all over Ram Path in the pre-monsoon rain in the city on June 22. The PWD department had blamed the weather for the incident stating that 102mm of rain fell on the night of June 22, and 176mm of rain fell on the night of June 25.

Notably, Ram Path was constructed last year and this was the first rain since its construction, which exposed the negligence in the work done.

Three engineers suspended

In the case of negligence in the construction of the Ram Path, the Yogi government has taken action against three engineers from the PWD department. Three engineers, including the executive engineer, have been suspended for negligence in the Ram Path construction. The principal secretary of PWD, Ajay Chauhan, has suspended the three engineers. The suspended individuals are the executive engineer of Ayodhya, Dhruv Agarwal, AE Anuj, and JE.
