Atiq Ahmed-Ashraf Killing: All three shooters in the slain gangster Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf murder case will remain in judicial custody till May 12. As per the latest updates, their judicial custody has been extended. All three of them: Arun Maurya, Lovelesh Tiwari and Sunny Singh are currently lodged in Prayagraj jail.
Notorious gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad (60) and Ashraf were shot dead at point-blank range by three men posing as journalists in the middle of a media interaction while police personnel were escorting them to a medical college in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj.
Reward on Saddam's arrest increased
After the death of slain gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, the Uttar Pradesh police have intensified their efforts to track down Shaista. Now Ashraf's brother-in-law Saddam is also under the radar and the police have doubled the reward on his arrest. The Uttar Pradesh police on Saturday informed that the reward has been increased to 1 lakh rupees from Rs 50,000.
"Reward on the arrest of Saddam, brother-in-law of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's brother Ashraf, increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 50,000. He is wanted in a case registered at Bithri Chainpur police station", UP Police said, reported ANI.
Reward for Shaista Parveen's arrest was doubled earlier
Earlier on April 9, the reward for Shaista Parveen's arrest was doubled by the UP police. The slain gangster's wife carries a Rs 50,000 reward on her.
On Friday, the Supreme Court questioned the Uttar Pradesh government why gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf were paraded before the media while being taken to hospital for a medical checkup in police custody in Prayagraj.
