New Delhi: A fan in India’s encounter with New Zealand in the ongoing Cricket World Cup in Dharamsala brandished a placard giving an epic twist to a dialogue by Nawazuddin Siddiqui in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, which went viral on social media. India beat New Zealand in the World Cup clash on Sunday and star batter Virat Kohli became an architect of the victory besides Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja who helped India go past the finishing line. India beat the opponent by 4 wickets.
Picture of fan’s placard goes viral
A picture of the man showcasing a placard has gone viral in which he has creatively twisted the dialogue by Nawazuddin Siddiqui in which the actor had said, “Baap ka, dada ka, bhai ka. sabka badla lega re, tera Faizal”.
The fan created his own version of the dialogue and wrote, “Baap ka dada ka, Mahi bhai ke run out ka, sabka badla lega tera Chiku”. Kohli did not disappoint the fans as he scored 95, falling just 5 runs short of what would have been second consecutive century in the World Cup. He played a crucial part in taking India home against New Zealand.
The picture was shared by a X user named Shubh who captioned the image, “King Kohli today’s pre-workout before batting”.
Dhoni’s last run out in International career
Notably, former Indian Cricket Captain and legend MS Dhoni was run out in the 2019 World Cup Semi final clash against New Zealand, breaking millions of hearts along with Dhoni himself, which was visible while he was returning to the pavilion. That walk back ultimately proved to be his last ever in the blues as the legend announced his retirement the next year on August 15.
The line “Mahi Bhai ke Run out ka” referred to that incident that crushed the dreams of Indian cricket fans four years ago.
