'Religious sentiments hurt': Pune man finds chicken piece in paneer biryani, Zomato reacts
The man who found a chicken piece in paneer biryani ordered through Zomato from a restaurant in Pune said that he is a religious person and his religious sentiments are hurt.
Viral video: A man claimed that his "religious sentiments were hurt" after he allegedly discovered a piece of chicken in a plate of paneer biryani he ordered through Zomato from a restaurant in Pune. He took to X to share a complaint about a dish and posted a picture and video of the dish in which he claimed that he found chicken pieces.
Pankaj Shukla alleged that he discovered a piece of chicken in a paneer biryani he ordered from PK Biryani House in Karve Nagar, Pune. Despite obtaining a refund, he expressed that the incident offended his " religious sentiments" as he is a vegetarian.
“Ordered paneer biryani from PK Biryani House Karve Nagar Pune Maharashtra and I found a chicken piece in it (I am a vegetarian) I already got refund but this is still a sin since I am a religious person and it has hurt my religious sentiments,” Pankaj said in his post.
Zomato responds
Zomato's official customer care account replied to Pankaj's post, requesting him to provide details for further investigation. “Hi Pankaj, our highest priority is to ensure that we never compromise with anyone's sentiments. Please share your order ID or registered phone number via DM so that we can get this checked,” Zomato said.
Food delivery platforms and airlines frequently make headlines for such occurrences. Earlier in March, Zomato faced scrutiny when a user alleged on X that chicken was delivered instead of their vegetarian order. The delivery platform apologised for the mistake and requested the user's registered phone number to conduct a thorough investigation.
