Aai, Amma, Maa, Baa, Bebe, or Ammi—these words may sound different, but they all convey one universal truth: a mother's love knows no bounds.
Today marks Mother’s Day, a global celebration dedicated to honoring the incredible women who have shaped our lives. In India too people are celebrating this special day, (which falls on the second Sunday of May each year), on a mass level. Cricketers, politicians, business personalities, bollywood stars and who all not have shared that one special message for their caregivers and nurturers. Marking this occasion, prominent figures like PM Modi, Anand Mahindra, and Sachin Tendulkar took a moment to remember and appreciate their mothers.
Sachin Tendulkar, the cricketing legend, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a touching tribute to his 'Aai'. He beautifully captured the essence of a mother's role in making a house feel like a home, and in providing unwavering support during tough times. "Mothers make homes cozy and wipe away tears. My Aai did that and more. Thank you, Aai, for being my rock. Happy Mother's Day," he expressed.
Anand Mahindra, the renowned businessman, shared a nostalgic post featuring an old photo with his 'Ma'. He reminisced about his mother's hopeful gaze into the future and her desire for her children's success through education. "Happy Mother's Day, Ma. We'll keep striving to make you proud," he affectionately conveyed.
Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a moment to honor his late mother, Heeraben, during a rally in West Bengal. Acknowledging a sketch of him with his mother, presented by his supporters in a rally, PM Modi emphasized India's deep-rooted tradition of revering mothers every single day of the year. “Two people have brought portraits here and are showing it. You have brought it from so much love, that too of my mother. The people in 'West' celebrate this day as Mother's Day, but in India, we worship our Mother, Ma Durga, Ma Kaali and Bharat Mata, 365 days a year,” he said at a rally in West Bengal.
Further, Bollywood stars like Sanjay Dutt , Tiger Shroff, Soha Ali Khan shared heartfelt messages on social media, expressing their love and gratitude to their mothers on this special day.
