Days after a video of a BSF jawan grilling a 'papad' on the hot sand near the border in Rajasthan's Bikaner went viral amid the prevailing heatwave conditions, another video of an egg being boiled on the hot sand has now become a topic of discussion.

In a now-viral video, a BSF jawan stationed at the border near Bikaner caught everyone's attention with a surprising demonstration. In the two-minute, 59-second clip shared on social media, a BSF jawan is seen burying an egg in the hot sand and leaving it there for a few minutes. He then retrieves the egg, peels it, and reveals that it is fully cooked.

Meanwhile, BSF personnel elaborating on the details of precautions being followed by the authorities to keep soldiers healthy and fit amid the intense heat in the Rajasthan deserts said, "The current temperature is 46 to 47 degrees Celsius, yet our soldiers are patrolling continuously. We provide them with lemon water and other fluids to protect them from heatstroke."

Further, it is pertinent to note that the video comes amid several parts of North India reeling under intense heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring above 48 degrees Celsius and expected to climb a notch higher only. Rajasthan's Barmer yesterday recorded a temperature of 48.8 degrees Celsius, so far the highest in the country this year. Significantly, amid the prevailing situation, a record surge has also been reported in heatstroke incidents across the country.

The India Meteorological Department earlier in its weather release urged people not to venture outside during the peak hours and to be hydrated well with water, fruits, buttermilk, vegetables, nimbu pani, and other food items.
